Glaze — product presentation

What we have built, why it is hard to copy, and how one platform becomes many dedicated versions. A companion to the investor presentation.

Well of ArtGlaze
Glaze on iPad: a still-life being painted with the brush and Wet/Dry controls
Our approach

Art is the medium, not the goal.

Glaze is a digital painting platform. Its aim is focus, calm, lower stress
and a stronger sense of agency — for children in hospital, older adults and patients.

The medium

Painting from masterpieces, with tools that behave like real oil paint.

The structure

Historical painting techniques give a process that is repeatable, teachable and measurable — step by step.

The aim

Agency, focus and calm. These are the outcomes we are now studying with independent researchers.

Glaze is built on historical painting techniques and formal R&D research. We work with hospitals to implement, adapt and study processes built around works of art.

Glaze on iPad

The painting engine

A digital twin of the oil-painting studio.

  • ToolsHog and sable brushes built from individual bristles, each defined by 80+ parameters. Chalk for sketching, a rag for correcting wet paint.
  • Paints16 historical oil pigments with their physical properties: opaque or transparent, mixing optically layer over layer.
  • MediumWet and dry, thick and thin paint behave differently. A dried layer is permanent — there is no undo.
  • SupportsCanvas and board in several sizes, differing in absorption, texture and light reflection.
The Glaze pigment palette next to a still-life in progress
Built on research

The engine comes from a laboratory, not from a filter.

Laboratory study

The optical behaviour of historical pigments and translucent layers was measured at Bialystok University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. EU-funded R&D (NCBiR), 2020–2022, with an 11-person research team.

Proprietary results

The measurements set the architecture of Glaze and belong to Well of Art. Brush and paint parameters are not published. Protection rests on know-how, not patents.

Credibility from outside

A peer-reviewed publication (Journal of Surgical Education, 2025), institutional partnerships and, next, independent research make the work verifiable by others.

Content

Museum collections, with guidance for every work.

A museum profile in Glaze: The National Gallery, with a curatorial description and artworks
  • Library220+ works from 15+ museum collections, each with a high-resolution reproduction and a curatorial description.
  • Partners8 partner museums. Collections include the National Museum in Kraków, the Royal Castle in Warsaw – Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art.
  • GuidanceA prepared sketch, a step-by-step tutorial or a blank canvas. People can also paint from their own photos.
  • Languages14, translated automatically. Adding a language is a small task.
Build a version

Six sections, 45 options to choose from.

    Ready to scale

A dedicated version is a configuration, not a new app.

    Same modules

Every dedicated version uses the blocks of the public version. Nothing is built from scratch for a new client.

    2 hours on the backend

A new institution is set up by switching blocks on and off. No separate build and no new App Store release.

    New blocks serve everyone

Each module we add — physical mixing next — becomes available to every existing and future version.

    Production

Fast to start. Built to scale.

    90%

of sketch and tutorial production expected to be automated once the three content tools now in R&D are in place. Coordination with the institution — choosing works, rights, approval — remains the main constraint.

    Content tools · in development

Experts design the process. Our algorithms repeat it.

Our artists and educators define how a sketch and a tutorial are made. We are turning that creative process into our own algorithms — a solution we control and can keep improving. The first parts are already in use.

    Designed by experts

Each step of building a sketch or a tutorial is set by artists and educators. The algorithm follows their process, not a generic model.

    Built inside Glaze

The tools are being built with Glaze itself as the creation environment. We own them, so we can refine them as our method develops.

    Tailored and approved

For each dedicated version, age group, difficulty, scope and themes are set individually. Every material is reviewed and approved by our team before release.

AI is used only to analyse the source image, never to generate images.

    R&D pipeline

Our lead grows with every generation of devices.

    In development

    Physical mixing

Pigments will also mix physically on the canvas, alongside optical glazing. Drying between layers becomes optional. This widens what a dedicated version can offer.

    In development

    Content tools

Our own tools inside Glaze to automate up to 90% of sketch and tutorial production. This is what makes content scale.

    Built, awaiting hardware

    Dynamic light

Our painting engine is ready for dynamic light: its direction follows the tablet's movement and its colour comes from the room. Developed by our lead engineer, Bartosz Maciurak. Release is timed to the next generation of iPad hardware.

Further ahead: flat brushes, and brushes that respond to Apple Pencil Pro tilt and rotation.

    Privacy by design

No account, no ads, no patient data. We do not collect usage data; it will be collected only within agreed research. This is what opened the door to a hospital IT environment.
